Introducing Our Family Insulation Company — McGlaughlin Spray Foam Insulation

 


Ours is a family insulation company with more than 30 years of residential and commercial experience behind us. We use spray foam and cellulose, which are efficient and come with high R-values. This is because we want our customers to stay warm and toasty all winter long and cool and comfortable in the summer.

Our founder is Richard “Dik” McGlaughlin, who established the company after being laid off from his computer industry job in 1987. Ben began working at the company and took his father’s place after Dik passed on in 2015. Under Ben’s leadership, we’ve become an NCFI-certified insulation installer.

We’ve found polyurethane spray foam and cellulose offer a high number of benefits, which is why we offer both choices to our customers. Here’s a breakdown of the differences:

Spray Foam Insulation – This type of insulation does offer greater insulating power with its higher R-value. It prevents mold and serves to keep out sound. But, it does cost more than cellulose.

Cellulose Insulation – This insulation has an excellent R-value but not as high as foam. It is made from pieces of newsprint that would otherwise go to a landfill. And It keeps out pests and mold.
